blulou Posted December 18, 2009 Report Share Posted December 18, 2009 Hi thereI have been having a problem for the last couple of days with staying connected in a chat room that is java.I was in there and using it with no problems for a few weeks and then all of a sudden i started to get error messages and everytime I logged in i was getting disconnected and logged out again.While I am in the chat room this message appears in the window:internet connection having trouble attempting to clear it up please waitThen after about 20 seconds I got this message and was logged off:error receiving data from server read timed outThen after a couple of tries getting in and getting logged out again, the message changed to this:software caused connection abortEverything else is working fine and my connection to the internet is fine. I am using a laptop wireless, so I went and checked the room on the main PC in our other room and the same thing is happening.Other people in the rooms are having no issues.I would be really great if someone could help me with this!!Lou Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The latest version is 1.6.0.17; if your version is older, uninstall anything older than 1.6.0.10, then download and install the latest version.The next step I'd suggest is to open a Command Prompt window, and issue the following commandipconfig /flushdnsthen wait a few minutes, and try to connect again to the chat room.P.S. if you still have problems after that, please specify your OS and browser. blulou Posted December 18, 2009 Author Report Share Posted December 18, 2009 HeyThanks for replying - I tried what you suggested above and it did not help.Also I am wondering if it is something to do with my connection to the internet as there is a problem on the other pc.My OS is Vista and I am using firefox - but I tried safari and that didnt work either. It has happened on this site several times. It is very often out of the control of the site itself. If I were in your position I would just let sleeping dogs lie for a couple of days and then try again.
