I have a sony vaio, an older model, and i just recently purchased a windows7 ultimate. Now, the thing is on display it asks me for witch station i want to install windows on, But my machine has a Station 1 size 11.2GB And type: OEM reserved.

Station 2 size 221.7GB Type: SYSTEM

Now the old system is Vista, so what to do next? I can not install w7 on Station 1, but should i just delete it? I dont need it no more or do I? When click on delete it says that the station may content system files or important factury software....

So what should i do?

It depends on what files you have on your hard drive that you want to keep. You may have documents that are important. You may want to keep your internet data.

It you have nothing to save, and you are going to start again, the sensible thing would be to just delete everything, then format the drive and start all over again by installing your new purchase.

well i dont need anything i have a backup on a external. I was just wondering if there was some kind of hardware drivers on it that i would need later since i have no cd with drivers. but i guess i can find them on internett later. Thx for the help. Z

Many times it is just as well to err on the side of caution and backup and save existing drivers. You will probably find that most used for Vista will probably serve Windows 7 quite well.

You will find that this piece of software: Double Driver does the job very well. And it is free !! :)
