how to delete windows.old ?

hello i have gone from vista to windows 7 64 bit and now i have got windows old files and i cannot get rid of them,i have tried disk cleanup but cannot see the files,does anyone know how i can delete them please?

When I did an install that originally had XP on it, it also created a windows.old, all I did was locate the file, right click on it and from the drop down box I clicked delete.

A warning box came up which required clicking on OK to delete it.

thank you i found a program that allowed me to take ownership and then i deleted windows.old

there must be a way i can be administrator all the time ?

The second link I gave you shows you how to have "Take Ownership" under your control all of the time by just "Right Clicking" John. ( http://www.blogsdna.com/2173/add-take-ownership-option-in-right-click-context-menu-of-windows-7.htm )

As for the actual Administrator account follow this guide :

"Another way of activating the administrator account in Windows 7 is via Computer Management Policy."

"Type compmgmt.msc in the search bar and hit enter.

After the Computer Management window pops up, navigate to Local Users and Groups -> Users.

In right-side pane double-click on “Administrator” account. It’ll open its Properties.

Deselect “Account is disabled” option and Apply it."
