A week ago it happened that the free memory on my C: drive suddenly went to 0 bytes without downloading or copying anything at all on C: at that moment, with no connection to internet. Then I used a little program called TreeSize witch allowed me to see the space used by all the folders in C: and I found something really strange. In the windows directory there was a hidden folders named G and F that contain information stored on my external devices that I did not ever copied voluntary to my C:, and this folders exceeded 20gb!!! Well I just deleted them, the system did`t crash and I was extremely happy to gain more than 20gb of free space.The same day I had to put some documents on my 1 gb usb. Since it`s in the same time a mp3 player it was almost full. Then I copied some pictures from the sd card of my camera which had about 200mb of used space. After that I saw that the memory on C: decreased with 1gb, so I ran TreeSize again and guess what I found – the G an F hidden folders on windows directory with all the information of the devices I just used. I'm using Windows XPSo can u help my cuz I just don`t want to delete those folders again and again, and if I ever decide to watch some movie from my 250gb external hd, I run out of space again very quickly. Software linked with media such as movies, music and digital cameras frequently creates extra folders to store data on without informing you. You can find out more about these folders by opening Views in the task bar in Windows Explorer and ticking all the boxes in Choose details. You can also right click on the folder then select Properties instead of opening the folder.You should also scan your computer with your virus scanner and double check by using a reputable on-line malware scanner such as NOD32 HERE.
