nidzumhelp Posted February 20, 2010 Report Share Posted February 20, 2010 PLEASE HELP ME!!!i didnt know when or how it started, but my pc started freezing and theres the blue screen of death, etc... althought; i noticed that it freezes in common patterns, like when im trying to scan my pc for viruses (btw, im using avast home edition, and im pretty sure its updated), when im in like 3% or sumthing, it hangs; even when im boot-scanning! the bsods appears when im playing. maybe after 30 min or more. the bsods give me random RANDOM reasons... i ran a chkdsk in my local disk C, but i havent dne it yet on the other 2 drives (D & E).i rily need sum help. does my pc still have hope? :( here are sum of my specs:Windows XP Professional SP3448MB Ramsorry im not good with pcsTY IN ADVANCE! catgate Posted February 20, 2010 Report Share Posted February 20, 2010 How long is it since you had the left hand side off and gave it a good blow out.It could be full of dust, which is causing it to over heat.Do not use a brush... just blow. Because the pc works okay during the early hours of the day. But when the sun comes straight above (hours after lunch or so. it starts crashing. Just take off the left hand side cover, usually one or may be two screws at the back holding the panel in position. Take them out and slide the panel rearwards slightly. Hey presto.You can just blow the dust out using a piece of non metalic tube and your own breath...but you might just end up covering the motherboard in saliva if you are not careful.You can dust off the fan blades with a small artists paint brush but be careful not to generate static by being to vigorous with it. Holding a vacuum nozzle near the area being brushed is a good idea providing you have absolute confidence in your ability to prevent it coming in contact with any part of the PC. Also positioning and using the box well up from floor level is recommended, particularly if you have pets (gold fish excepted). Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

catgate Posted February 21, 2010 Report Share Posted February 21, 2010 Good, I am glad you found something, and were able to clean it out.However, if you have been unlucky you may have got rid of the cause of the problem but you may not have cured it if the overheating has done some michief some where.
