I have found out if I kill explorer.exe and restart it, I again can drag and drop for some time, before the ability is lost again. This is very annoying, very. Thank you.This may seem like a silly question, but....have you tried another mouse?I had a similar problem quite a long time ago and I changed to a different mouse. It might have been coincidence but I felt sure that is what caused the problem to disappear.edit: I have just remembered it was one of the old roller ball type of mouse so the idea may be silly if you are one one of the newer types. Click Repair your computer. 5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, choose the drive of your Windows installation and click Next. 6. Before I do what you propose, I want to ask you if I risk my whole Win 7 installation or if there is no risk doing it? I really don't want to make a complete reinstall of Win 7 and all my programs and settins. Therefore I have to be sure, that I dont risk to do that. Do you know that? Do you know that?There is absolutely nothing that is certain when dealing with with computers, apart from the fact that they will cause problems, even when you have the machine in front of you.So you will have to decide whether the inconvenience of your drag and drop problem out weighs the risk of having a reinstall to perform.If I were in your position I think I would get an external hard drive and copy all my important folders and files on to it before I did anything that I was unsure about. Gudmund Posted March 3, 2010 Author Report Share Posted March 3, 2010 I have made another account and I use that account now. Until now it seems the problems is not on that account ... I have contacted Microsoft also for help, they still don't have a solution. I will return back if my new account will run without the problem for a period and also if Microsoft comes with a solution. The problem with my new account is, that I have a lot of software installed on my old account and some of these software requires new registration on my new account and I don't have serials and so on for much of that software ...
