Mychal
Hi im new to this forum so dont flame me if this is posted somewhere else ( I looked and didnt find anything ) So I was going through my C drive to see why so much of it was used. So i was going down the folders and everything was looking ok. When I got to my Windows folder tho... It had 19gb or files in it... I have Windows vista SP2 and I have fully updated it with Windows update so im guessing that it just continuously just added files and didnt delete the old ones. So I want to know is it that is ok or if I should delete files and folders? and which ones?
-pops-
Be very careful even thinking about deleting files from the Windows folder. One false click of the mouse could result in you having a useless, but expensive, box of junk .My advice would be to leave well alone. If you do go ahead, ensure you have a full system backup which you are certain will work before doing anything more.
Alan2273
You could try a program like crap cleaner, it is amazing how much dross this program can clean of your computer, but as Pops says do not attempt it manually, it could end in tears./>http://download.cnet.com/CCleaner/3000-2144_4-10547048.html

ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
If you do not understand each of the options, then it is best to start with the items that are checked by default. This will already clear a lot from your disks.Once you get more comfortable with the program, then you can start to check additional items. Some will clear an additional lot from your disks, e.g. 'Hotfix Uninstallers'. This will remove all uninstallers from past hotfixes, Windows updates, and service packs. (This will actually remove a great number of files from your Windows folder.)I recommend that you perform a full system backup before activating items like 'Hotfix Uninstallers'.See http://docs.piriform.com/ccleaner for more details on CCleaner and its settings. If you have questions about any specific setting in CCleaner, you can ask here or at the CCleaner forum http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showforum=
