I am going to sell my PC

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I am going to sell my computer system, i have windows xp in my PC. I want to safely wipe my all data from hard drive so that no one can recover my confidential data from my PC. I formatted my computer. Is it possible that data can recover after formatting, If yes then please tell me the way by which i erase my data so that no one can recover it.

Is it safe to go with third party software like [removed] software

It is generally understood that the only way to guarantee data removal from a hard drive is to physically destroy the drive - either smash it with a hard object or chemically dissolve it.

Is your data really that confidential? If it is, install a new drive before selling the machine.

Is this a disguised advertisement for software, by chance? Prove to me it isn't before the thread is deleted.

Since the post originated from India, it is very likely. I have removed the software name that was mentioned in the original post.

From where country come in between, Please don't include country.
