Removable Drive/Hidden Files

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, haven't been on here in a long time but glad to see it's still doing good. I have an issue with a 1 TB removable hard drive. When I was in Iraq serving there was a common worm installed on the computers there and everyone that would plug there removables into it would get infected and it would create weird executables and modify the autorun.inf to run them. Well my AV takes care of the executables and normally I would just edit the autorun.inf file but it's not there. It is but Windows doesn't see it. The Hidden files and folders setting is of course enabled. Is there something I've missed? The recycle bin isn't there either. I have to access these things in cmd.exe. I'm just wondering why Windows cannot see them graphically.

Also, in case this helps if I create a txt file in the removables root directory and give it the hidden attribute it acts as a normal hidden file.

Thanks,

Coz
