Mauri
Every time I turn off my computer (Win7, 64bit, Home Premium), it installs exactly 8 updates. I think I can troubleshoot quite a bit myself, but first I would need to know what those 8 are. Shut down screen says nothing else than "updating 6 of 8". How do I access the list "next time you shut down these will be installed"?

-pops-
I don't know if this applies in your case but, a few weeks ago I had a similar situation - every time at shutdown, the machine tried to install the same updates. Without going into tedious detail I found eventually that on the day that these updates had downloaded I needed to do a System Restore. So, there I was with a machine with downloaded updates supposedly waiting to be installed on shutdown but were actually in some sort of limbo. Windows was telling me about it but unable to properly carry out the task.I tried another System Restore but the problem persisted. What I eventually did was to re-install the whole operating system from my backup and and then download the updates manually.
