Meta1203 Posted July 4, 2010 Report Share Posted July 4, 2010 Hello!I have just recently installed a dual boot system, Ubuntu 10.04 (linux) and Windows XP.I setup the xp system with 20 GiB of storage, with the other 140 GiB devoted to Ubuntu.Then, I installed Itunes, and I knew I needed more than 20 GiB of storage...So, i popped in my GParted live cd, shrunk my linux partition, increased my xp partition, and restarted.Finally, I booted my XP partition from Grub2, and XP checked for disk errors.Suddenly, it just stuck at the "Windows XP" screen! Not the boot one, but it looked like a login one, just without any login options...So, I shut down, booted into my Ubuntu partition, and that is where I am writing from!!!The question is,How do i fix my XP partition?I can boot into Ubuntu, which can read and write to NTFS file systems.What do I do?Ps, I have attached a Windows XP boot logntbtlog.txt Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

-pops- Posted July 4, 2010 Report Share Posted July 4, 2010 A repair install is slow because it is comparing what is on the install disk with what is on the computer hard drive and making corrections if necessary.Unless you have a specific requirement to retain that XP installation, it would be quicker and better to do a completely fresh install.
