We will meet up next week.The name "Ho" put officials on alert, and he spent Friday night in custody at Exeter Prison, on suspicion of being a Chinese illegal immigrant. All is well now though..=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.Thanks for the info about the T.V. Program andsome. I did actually fall asleep in the chair and missed T.V for the whole evening. The YouTube link you gave was excellent. I think it was absolutely disgusting that other forum members started to take the mickey out of you.I will put the link in again to perhaps reach a wider and more understanding audience. I would say that is up there amongst the top alongside - "Queens" "Bohemian Rhapsody" with Freddy Mercury conducting from the piano.Mahler eah ? - Makes you proud to be British dunnit ? .=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.I have actually sung at the Albert Hall twice now. Both times an enjoyable and memorable experience. The first time being in 1983..=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.Many Choral Societies have had to disband because of a lack of interest in classical music.These days you have to have a very broad repetoire to actually manage to get "Bums on Seats", slipping in the odd classical piece now and again to catch the audience unawares.Here are a couple of tracks from our last CD. One heavy, one light weight. MANEMAN Posted July 17, 2010 Author Report Share Posted July 17, 2010 Most of the Cornish Male singers come under the classification of "Bass or Baritone".Choirs in Cornwall are crying out for Tenors & Second Tenors. So, - I was suprised when I was approached and asked to join this particular choir as a Bass. They, as a "Youngish" choir were sadly lacking at the bottom end. There only two "True" Basses in the choir. Myself (63) and Adam (30) It takes a bit of doing to out-do Sopranos and an organ at times in a choir of 60 people. I have sung all parts in male voice choirs in the past, Including Solo spots, - apart from Tenor, which even a tight pair of trousers didn't help to encourage. Since singing with them I have regained the "Top End" of my voice once again.Singing with Male Voice Choirs is a bit like being a Monk, and surrounded by aging people drifting into second childhood.Old chaps, forever arguing about something inconsequential to music, and behaving something like a load of kids. - Performances ? - Unsmiling and stiff.I got out after many years, and now on choir practice nights I am surrounded by lovely little teenage beauties who pander to this old grey person with a nice voice. The celibacy of the Male Voice Choir hasn't manage to grab me in the "Autumn of my Years" :) Musical tastes vary. In the amateur world, - you have just got to get out there, work out what sort of program people would like to listen to, put together a program that is going to create a large audience. If you are doing a lot of this stuff for charity, you have to work out an "Eclectic" program. - "Bums on Seats" to raise money.I'll try to include a few more tracks next week, and hopefully AlanHo will come home with a few CD's (Music and computer related) that he can share within the inner enclave of the forum. :P John.
