Switching to Win7 and raid0

Hey everyone,

I am switching from Linux Ubuntu to Windows 7. My question is not so hard, but I just want to know exactly what I can do in my dilemma.

I have 3 internal hard drives (2x 160gb Hitachi, 1x 160gb Western Digital).

What are my option as far as raid arrays arrangements are concerned? I wanted to continue using raid 0.

Can 3 hard drives be in raid 0? Or can only 2 at a time? Do I raid0 my two hitachi drives, and install the Os on the separate drive? Or.... =\

Basically, what is the best setup that I can arrange for myself for my desktop. It's been a while since I've done this.. and Ubuntu automatically does this for you without any intervention, and I just don't know what's best for me and HOW TO DO IT... =\ lol I've been spoiled

There aint no dilemma. Just keep it all simple.

Stick Windows 7 on the 160GB WD "twice" (Dual Boot using a disk image of the first OS on the second partition)

That gives you a get-out if one OS fails.

Use the other 2 160GB disks for data and backup using *Second Copy* (Second Copy often described as the poor man's RAID without the hassle)

Get y'self an external hard drive if you need more space.

I've seen some reasonably sized businesses running on a lot less than that.

Now you've got a rig that you can do most of the things you could reasonably want to do as a home user. Set it up, dont frig around with it too much, remember to disk image, and make sure 2nd copy is doing it's job on a fairly regular basis

RAID is not that important to you otherwise you would have made more of it in your post.

Jeez you've got more computing power than it took to get a man to the moon, and you think you are in dilemma already ? - Oiy vay !!!!

Drama queens have dilemmas. Computer people just get on with it and fix it. :P
