Random freezes

My computer has been really unstable for awhile but recently I've been getting somewhere and its not freezing every 5 seconds. However in event manager im getting a critical error called Kernal power event ID 41

a warning whea-logger event id 17

Im pretty sure all these errors are causing the freezes is anyone able to help me get rid of them?

Hi there and welcome to the forum.

Firstly download and install **BlueScreen View** (It's free !!)

This is going to allow you to diagnose your own mini-dump.

The creator is "Nirsoft" and many firewalls block this website although it is perfectly legitimate. ( Tell your firewall to unblock it. - It's safe)

Just as to why this tool is so useful, here is the following imformation:

"BlueScreenView is a small utility that will scan all your minidump files created during 'blue screen of death' crashes, and then display the information about all crashes in one table."

"For each crash, BlueScreenView displays the minidump filename, the date/time of the crash, the basic crash information displayed in the blue screen (Bug Check Code and 4 parameters), and the details of the driver or module that possibly caused the crash (filename, product name, file description, and file version)."

As you can see, it cuts down the time required for diagnosis of the mini-dump by the neccessity to have another person diagnose the mini-dump for you.

If your operating system is heavily used, or experiencing constant install/uninstalls be thinking here of registry corruption. Dont use a registry cleaner. - It will only make things worse.

Sometimes a re-install of the operating system can seem a lengthy step. -

- But a lot of times, - The shortest route.

Hiyya NY I'm no great expert but your prob is similar to one I had recently and the forum I am usually on - www.whirlpool.com.au (Australia) gave me quite a few tips and fixes for it. You seem to have a lot of references to Trend MS (awful) Eset etc and one of the things that I found was that clearing out multiple malware / AV suites and just using one - I use Kaspersky Pure now but KIS 2011 is probably better - got rid of that freezing. The forum above has loads of Wikis for fixes setups etc and may be worth a visit. Anyway as i said - no great expert but am now ok.
