knarkiew Posted August 22, 2010 Report Share Posted August 22, 2010 When I try to open icons on my desktop, an "open with..." box pops up, but nothing works regardless of what I choose. If I select what I want to open, it tries to run it and it tries downloading to the temp file. Still doesn't work.Basically, I can't directly open ANYTHING without right-clicking and pressing "start".I think this all started when I was running Piriform's CC Cleaner and accidentally deleted something I shouldn't have. bludgard Posted August 22, 2010 Report Share Posted August 22, 2010 Do you have any back-ups?Restore points,registry back ups-an option with CCleaner,system images?Anything?Try to take OS back to a time before this happened if possible.If not,there are options running from checking your disk for errors to a clean install of your OS.If you believe it to be registry issues,Vista Upgrade Repair Reinstall would most likely get you back straight.Some one here more familiar with these issues may have other advice.Stick around. :) Oh,yeah....
