However, the student deal says that it only works with computers with XP or Vista operating systems. Windows allows students to upgrade to Microsoft Professional for only $30, but it states in the fine print that this deal is for students whose computer's operating systems are either windows vista or windows xp. I just bought my netbook, after this deal was first instituted, and it came with Windows 7 stater, thus not windows xp or vista. I want to upgrade to windows 7 professional, but hopefully at the student price so I am wondering if I can do that or am I not eligible to take part in this offer because my netbook has windows 7 starter and not windows xp or vista as the operationg system.
