Kingston
I have three Windows Vista nodes connected to a CentOS server. Samba is installed and setup to act as a primary domain controller and file server. I have two main problems...1. When a user logs into Vista using their network login, the system then takes around 120 seconds to login and load the desktop. Why does the login process take so long? I have seen this process take as little as 5 seconds on other systems.2. If a user opens a file on a shared resources then closes it. Anyone else accessing that file would get the "File is already in use" error even though it isn't in use.As these issues with Samba or Windows? Seshomaru Samma
For Vista slow login, try thisAs for "File is already in use" , is that the exact wording? I work a lot with Samba and never encountered that . Does it happen only on the Vista clients ? what other clients do you use ?
