An annoying feature that I hope you can disable.

Hi, May be a silly but I'm asking it anyway,

You know when you drag a window (that is "restored down") around the screen and if you say, put it to the left Windows will automatically expand the window to fit half the screen. Often I don't want the size to be what windows auto-expands it to and I find I have to leave all my windows half floating in the middle of the screen just so they don't auto expand to fit the whole screen(I usually have a few things open at once, that I want to view at once).

Please tell me if there is a way to disable the "auto-expand" function before I resort to installing ubuntu out of shear hate for the window-expandingness :P

I don't use these Windows frivolities. Perhaps you shouldn't either if such a minor annoyance is likely to send you to another operating system.

If there is a concealed reason for your question (e.g. seeking a justification to move to Ubuntu) why not just do it?

I just tried Ubuntu Lucid Lynx and I really don't know why I would leave a very user friendly OS to one I don't quit completely understand but is fun to learn.I actually had to reformat after wanting 7 back.
