my laptop gives an error message before it shuts down

Hi,

my computer recently crashed and so I had to reinstall the whole operating system. I have a windows vista home premium OS and every time my computer is about to shut down it gives me this error message "the exception unknown software (0xc0000005) exception occurred at location (0x760bbe16) press OK to terminate the program." I googled this problem but I could not find an error exactly like mine. Please help what should I do to get rid of this problem.

Can you boot from the Windows install media?If so pressing F8 at startup should get you to some repair options. Advanced startup options.Select Repair your computer.

Do you by any chance have an HP printer installed on the laptop ?

If so, the work around I have found appears to be that you never turn off the printer before the laptop.

Just leave the printer connected to power when you shut down the laptop, then after shut down turn off the printer.

yeah actually I do have a HP printer installed on my laptop and the error also says something "hp" I'll try both the solutions thakns this really helps.
