Seeking Enlightenment

I purchased an external HD recently for backups,media,etc.

After running clean all and formatting the disk,I decided to shrink the primary partition to 5GB and place a Windows 7 universal .ISO there for install,repair,and general fiddlin' purposes.I booted from the USB HD and Windows Installer appeared.:) I selected the option to repair my computer and after searching for Windows installations,presented me with E: Drive.I checked and the indicated "ghost" drive is in fact the the same as my Windows C: Drive.

Dumbfounded-as usual-I booted from the DVD .ISO and recieved the same results.

I searched for some explanation for this and came up with nothing useful.

Can anyone explain this behaviour to me or point me in the right direction as to where I may find answers and/or reasons for this?It's not a problem,I just hate being ignorant.:lol:

Does the Repiar console use some kind of virtual mode?

Could it be that it is registering from the DVD drive, as it is an ISO.

C:/ = hard drive, E:/ = DVD drive.

I know it looks a mess,but there is some method to this madness.

Note that E: and D: were not connected at time of operation stated above.

I was booted from Disk 1>A:----USB HD.

C: was recognized as E: (Multi-card reader) by the Installer on both Disk 1>A and (when connected) D:.

I'm really not trying to include anyone in my madness.:lol:
