Windows 7 install problem

Recommended Posts

I have a problem with installing with my windows 7. I installed my win7 on my laptop a month ago and it went smoothly. Now I was installing it to my PC but it took 2 hrs just to copy a fresh win7 and sometimes it would just load but not progress. I have a 2gb memory, 2.5ghz core 2 duo processor, 512mb video card on my pC> I was wondering what seems to be the problem?

As Boris has pointed out,it would be optimal to install onto a completely cleaned and formatted hard drive.

When one deletes a partition or quick formats, data is not actually erased. It is only marked as deleted so that it can be overwritten.

If Windows is installed over other crap that is marked for deletion, there are apt to be issues.Even upgarades can be problematic.

If CLEAN ALL is applied through Windows native DISKPART command line utility, all data is securely erased and zeros are written to the entire HD.You then have a "sterile" environment to install your Windows OS.

If you choose to go this route,I-or another member here-can offer assistance if needed.Just keep the thread updated.
