comici Posted September 17, 2003 Report Share Posted September 17, 2003 i make an backup includet, systemstatusfiles and the complet folder winnt (with nic adapter, ip adresses the dns and snmp configuration. my problem is: i make a new system with a unattend installation without net and the other configuration. after restore my backup, i had the same system before the restore (option overwrite). i dont know why? but the system must includet the old adjustment´s, or not? what i make wrong? :unsure: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Backups like you have done, will almost certainly only work back to installation from which they came.Simply adding the restored files to a new installation will probably cause more problems. To start with, none of the registry entries will have been added, so the os will not be able to relate to the restored files.I think your best bet, would be to start again, and this time do the installation manually. When it is finished and you are happy it is OK, create an image using something like DriveImage, and then in future, you can restore the complete OS in one go.Regards. Mr. Mouse.
