I eventually deal with delays in evry user request I send to my pc and the computer has regular delays in everything it normally does ( such as, when playing a video, the video will pay for 5 seconds, freeze for 3 seconds continually. Much trouble accessing website (Windows Forum came in though). can't access sites or it takes 2-3 minutes to render the data onscreen or it times out. I have noticed I have 2 things that I don't know what they are: FGUARD, isuspm.EXE (aCRESSO sOFTWARE mANAGER) cOULD EITHER OF THESE BE HOGGING SYSTEM RESOURCES. tHE PROBLEM STARTED ABOUT A DAY AFTER THE wINDOWS UPDATE PROESS. iS THERE A KNOWN ISSUE WITH wINDOWS 7 UPDATES. hAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS SITUATION. i REBOOT MY PC AND i CAN USE IT NORMALLY BUT THE PROBLEM GRADUALLY GETS WORSE AGAIN SO REBOOT AGAIN. bludgard Posted December 30, 2010 Report Share Posted December 30, 2010 Hi,nickster.I personally haven't had problems with Windows Update-except for Games For Windows Live.But I'm running Win 7 HP X64.Both processes mentioned above appear to be legit.You may want to run a full anti virus/malware scan to make sure that all your processes are legit.FGuard=Folder Guard XP Edition.ISUSPM.exe= InstallShield Update Service Scheduler for Macrovision.Of the two,I would think the culprit to be Macrovision since it is graphical and something tells me that it is memory issues that are causing your woes.Could you post a screenshot of task manager showing all processes?With memory the main focus?Then CPU usage.This of course is all guesswork.But it is a start. bludgard Posted December 31, 2010 Report Share Posted December 31, 2010 A quick reply before I dive in....ZoneAlarm kept me from using System Restore as well.Among other things....I uninstalled it-$50 down the tube-and installed Microsoft Security Essentials.Smooth sailing and low resource usage.;) I'll be back. edit:I notice right off that you have multiple AV/AM programs running.AVG,ZoneAlarm,SuperAntiSpyware and MBAM that are immediately recognizable.This may not be beneficial.In fact can be down right disastrous.:0 Be back.... bludgard Posted December 31, 2010 Report Share Posted December 31, 2010 nickster,I would suggest that you create a complete image backup of your disk drive.Uninstall all realtime anti virus/malware program that is installed on your machine.Choose one realtime AV/AM to protect your PC and install it.Or,if you want to try MSE,install Microsoft Security Essentials and let it update.Run a full scan.(MSE has been reliable for me and many others-which is all I use except for on demand MBAM.It is free as well).You have a slew of unneeded programs running.I would further recommend that you check what is configured to run at boot-when Windows starts.You can safely disable most everything from booting within Windows.I personally only let anti virus/malware,sidebar and touchpad load at boot.Anything else I may need will start when called upon.You can check this by opening System Configuration from within Windows:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310560As an option I believe CCleaner has the ability to configure startup programs.Get rid of any uneeded toolbars.There is no wonder you are having freezes and lockups.Get rid of the multiple security programs and all the dead weight and i assure you Windows will be pleased.:D Again,please create backups before making any changes.If something goes wrong,you'll have a safe path back to where you are now.Do not hesitate to ask if you need further assistance.One Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
