peragu Posted January 3, 2011 Report Share Posted January 3, 2011 Each time i boot my computer, after i'm logging inn and all programs have started, suddenly my colors or gamma or brightness gets ligth ass hell... how can i fix this?specs:- Toshiba sattelite laptop bought in 2009- windows vista home premium 6.0- BIOS: insyde H2O verson 1.50- prosessor: intel pentium dual cpu T3200 @ 2.00GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.0GHz- RAM: 3GB- DX10- graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 | genetic PnP-screen Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Makcalable Posted January 3, 2011 Report Share Posted January 3, 2011 How long has this been going on?have you recently changed graphics card or driver?have you checked the device manager for any issues with the graphics card?have you installed any new updates/drivers/hardware?could you maybe provide a screen shot for us?also from the start menu type in > perfmon /report and hit enter then view the report lokk for any issues/fails on any of the report.Additional Info here maybe it will help Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Are the air intakes to the laptop clear of fluff and dust ?Have you been using the laptop in a situation where you may have blocked airflow in the recent past and perhaps overheated and damaged components ? (Many times by just running it on your lap ! :( )Have you dropped the laptop ?Also poor soldering on printed circuit boards can cause problems like this. (Dry Joints) Although it is not now so prolific as it once was.Does the fault disappear when you gently tap or "bend" the laptop ?John. Digerati Posted January 3, 2011 Report Share Posted January 3, 2011 I recommend plugging an external monitor into the notebook and see if it is doing the same thing. If not, then your card is probably fine and it is a problem with the notebook display - most likely the inverter. Also, you neglected to post the model number but most Toshiba notebooks have a 3 year warranty, but some have only 2. In any case, unless you bought it on Jan 1 or 2 of 2009, your notebook should still be covered. You need to contact Toshiba today and get on record as having a problem. bludgard Posted January 3, 2011 Report Share Posted January 3, 2011 Does the fault disappear when you ..."bend" the laptop ?I've heard of this newfangled upstart diagnostic technique by the name of "bending".Originally thought to have been proposed by Bender Bending Rodriguez some time in the not so near future.I still haven't tested this "bending" as I do not know what type of hardware would be most beneficial to "break" the case of my lappy.Possibly a vice or three configured in such a way as to permit a torquing/wrenching action....I shall keep all interested parties updated as to how this gets sorted.Thanks for your advice,MANEMAN.Always apreciated.One Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Just had another thought.I have had ribbon cable connectors between the main frame body and LCD display cause this problem too.Try a gent "Wiggle/ Bend" on the LCD display as well.Try Bugsy and Digerati's stuff first though. First answering bugsy's questions:- it have been going on for 3 days i think- i have never changed the graphics card or updated it's driver ever after i bought it.- when i did the "perfmon /report" thing it said that the only issue was too much cpu use- i uploaded a picture, but i don't know if u can see it since i am the only one with screwed up screen:P2. MANEMAN's questions:- The fan is running and i don't think it's from overheating.- I dropped a stone (of all things) on it about a week ago that scratched the side of the laptop, but it worked fine after this happened until 3 days ago, i dont think this is the reason though because of (see last answer)- "Also poor soldering on printed circuit boards can cause problems like this.
