iPod, senutI, freeware HELP

Recommended Posts

Greetings board,

Spencer from the I.E. in SoCal.

I have gone through a couple hd crashes over het last year. Thna my iPod, Nano 3rd gen stoped working in the vehicles. So, after MUCH research and trips to Apple stores, finally one young man offered me the knowledge of searching senutI on internet. I wanted to back up all 800+ songs from my ipod than restore or reinstall the softaware. I did ntat, not sure if it helped as there is still a blank spot for like a half second or so where the music is blank while playing solitare. That is NOT the issue.

What I am alsking help for with is getting all my songs back into the ipod. I can't recall whether I simply copoy and pasted, cut and pasted or moved the files out of itunes to my portable hd or what or how, it's been too long now. If I used a third party program, the one or two I may have had in the computer, said I needed to pay for them and one had expired, so I deleted them altogether. I have them all saved on my portable hd in a folder. I have been looking for freeware as I spent enough money buying the ipod, learning to operate it, and paying for so many songs, I'm not allowing anyone else to stick their fingers in my pockets, there's not much left there to grasp at anyway. Many FREE DOWNLOADS, big deal, even me, as a senior knows that every dl is FREE, it's usning the software that COSTS.

I've spent many hours, days even trying to find a program to help me. I know you younger generation know comps and software better than anything, and many of you can empathise with me about paying for something you shouldn't have to and are more than willing to share your expertise and knowledge with others.

Eagerly awaiting someones kind, generous assistance.

Info for him/her who will be assisting...I will want to do htis on my laptop which is running Vista Home, please feel free to email with any further questions with may help us with this.

Respectfully,

Spencer

Can you not import media files from within iTunes? Then connect the iPod and export? If you have problems installing music to iPod,there is an option to restore the iPod to factory conditions in iTunes.

Here is a little instruction for a slimmed down iTunes install. The Unofficial Guide to Installing iTunes.

Works great and gives you more control of the software.

Hope this is useful.
