Sound Problem

I have installed windows 2000/win 98 on my system but while playing audio/video files it plays in faster speed as compared to normal. i.e. audio/video files play a bit faster than normal speed.

my system configuration is 866 Pentium III with 128 MB RAM.

any help/suggestion/guidelines to fix this probelm or rectification

I assume that you are talking about Windows Media Player when you get this error. Perhaps you could confirm this. Does it happen in both operating systems, or just one of them.

It sounds to me like you have a corrupted codec. Probably the first thing to try is to re-install your Media Player. Depending on the version you are using, you can download a fresh install from Microsoft.

Also what happens to files played in other applications ie. Real Player or Quicktime?
