MANEMAN
If you are using a Windows operating system check "Task Manager" to see which programs are stealing your CPU cycles.Run a decent anti-malware program like Malwarebytes, defrag, run CHKDSK, and make sure that any programs that you do not wish to be running do not run at startup.Hope this is of some help.John.(Any other ideas on a slowly gust Cap'n Bludgard)
bludgard
... gust when i'm click word programs....I think OP meant "just".(I will also, time permitting, make referrence to "gust" as well). The virus/malware scan sounds good.So does disabling uneeded programs in startup.Task Manager should definately give you an idea of what is eating up resources.(CPU)Checking the drive for errors-chkdsk- has become a daily thing for my perfectly running operating system these past few days.I'm glad the ol' girl likes to do this on her own.I'm lookin' for the cause before I administer the cure.I'm sure it has something to do with the multiple file systems and/or the VItualBox IDE controller. This machine-Win7-does not care for IDE.A good defragging wouldn't do any harm I suppose.Actually improves the perfomance of some file systems better than others. Unless of course all of the above are disabled by some kind of malicious programming. What word programme are you using that is hanging,Sunay?Has this been going on for a while? If not check System Restore for a point you can revert your system/registry back to that predates this particular issue. If you think it is the word programme that is the root of the problem-and it worked ok before-you may want to back up your data within this programme and reinstall it.Feel free to post your findings. If I can not assist further there are plenty of members with vasts amounts of knowledge that may offer other advice.Welcome and howdy.Something Else:If it is in fact an issue with "gust",I would definitely encourage you to obtain the best/most updated material possible for the mainsail.Whale skin is a thing of the past. It's heavy, hard to keep clean and has the foulest of odors when caught off guard by a squall. This all ruins the false hopes/morale- induced by rum and stuff-of the crew. You want SPEED,man.Along with a low maintenance plan.Leaves time for other things.;)
