452films Posted January 16, 2011 Report Share Posted January 16, 2011 I had some virus issues earlier last month, and thought I had it all cleared out. Now whenever I try to download new programs, or update old ones, I get this:I tried to open up msconfig and received the same message. I'm assuming theres a corrupt file. I'm not a computer expert in any way so any help is appreciated. Let me also say that I accidently messed with the administration settings in Itunes and my itunes and quicktime no longer work, but DivX and WMP still work. -pops- Posted January 16, 2011 Report Share Posted January 16, 2011 Assuming you don't have a disk image or backup, there comes a point when clearing out errors, faults and disasters from a computer is just not worthwhile. I think you have reached that and a re-install or possibly a repair install of the operating system is the only feasible way to progress.When you get going again, give urgent and serious consideration to making an image or backup of your system.
