greatyler
Howdy,I would like to install a SSD in my Lenovo T400 2767-CM6 in place of the original HDD.I then will put my 5400rpm WD HDD in a multi-bay instead of my dvd drive. My Questions are:Priority:Can I run my original HDD with a fully operating and configured software setup in a VM after booting on the SSD? What software is most stable?Secondary:Can I put an SSD in this machine? Are there SSDs I need to avoid?Notes:The SSD upgrade is not meant to improve performance while using the original HDD.I must run Windows 7 Enterprise on the SSD. (But will consider a dual boot so the VM works out)I'm rather open-minded.
Alan2273
Yes you can put a SSD in the T400, but it depends on which model of T400 you have as to whether there is that much of an advantage to doing so, read this.forum post.lenovo.com/t5/T61-and-prior-T-series-ThinkPad/T61-Support-SATA-II/m-p/97928?view=by_date_ascending#M34741
