Office - change the text in minimized windows

Recommended Posts

Is there a way to change the text that is displayed in minimized Office 2010 windows? Most of my programs print the file name there, which is convenient. Office is printing "Microsoft Office Access - filename" or something similar, which results in all my minimized Office windows simply showing "Microsoft..." Which is not helpful.

Windows XP

Yes, I do believe there is.

Not being a user however, I cannot tell you how to do it. :(

There may be someone else here who knows how, so just hang on a little while.

If you are in a real rush for an answer you could perhaps head over to http://www.microsoftoffice2010forums.com/

A visual presentation of your problem could be an advantage, so think about doing a screenshot or two before presenting there. (They have a special area for screenshots)

Also Microsoft offer training at this address: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/support/training-FX101782702.aspx where you may find additional information.

Hope this is of some help.

Thanks for the post.

I would think again that horseatingweeds would like to get rid of the Microsoft Excel (or equlivelent) so that just the file name (in this case W30) shows.

As a thought if you double up your task bar you will get twice as many minimised applications in so they won't shrink down as much, not an answer but a temporary solution
