Hello

I got a call to my residence number stating that my computer is sending out malicious commands. I have an antivirus in place and have no problem in internet.

I dismissed the first call as a prank call.

Second call came yesterday the person operating said he is calling from Australia (New south Wales) they are the external agency handling Windows support, the number given to me was 61390018685 and the call was made by Craig.

He said i was to execute certain commands in my computer. It sounding suspicious to me

Posting it in forum to ask does window support team have such a process of informing customers?

I stay in Singapore so does Australian call centers handle south east asian countries as well?

Appreciate your help i have Windows 7 O/S

Thanks

Sounds like yet another attempted scam to me ?

Read this :-

See specific post there from "FT @ 2011-02-28 05:50" where the same phone number has been quoted.

Also many similar cases.

Ignore any further contact from these people

I would call your ISP and ask for help. I would also run a full battery of malware scans on your computer and make sure it is updated. And if you are using a wireless network, make sure it is secure, and someone else is not using your connection to send out bad data.
