"Second Copy" timestamp problem

I have been using "Second Copy" to sync and back up my files and folders on an external HD. I worked fine until a few days ago, when suddenly the preview showed the timestamp of every single file included in my Second Copy profiles as changed by exactly one hour. I aborted running the profiles so as not to duplicate the files on the backup disc.

Is this something to do with the clocks changing to summer time? I tried unchecking "Automatically Adjust Clock for Daylight Saving Time" on the "Change time zone" settings of the system clock, but then the profiles failed to run at all. Then I tried just putting the system clock back one hour, but that didn't change anything. All of the timestamps were still one hour out of sync.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received!

I've used 2ndCopy for many years and never noticed, or been affected by, the timestamp being awry.

I expect 2ndCopy to update changes in my files only if and/or when they are altered or updated. The actual time that it does this doesn't affect or bother me. What is important is that the file retained is the latest version - just in case there is a disaster with my primary drive - which, I should point out has happened to me on several occasions.

2ndCopy is a lifesaver, especially when used with a backup or image of the "C" drive.

I agree, the idea of Second Copy is great, but this problem will make it unusable for me if it can't be fixed. The files in question have not been altered. There are about 35000 of them, and every single one of them has had its timestamp put exactly one hour ahead of the copy on the backup disc. If I go ahead with running the profile, they will all be copied again. Which isn't the idea at all.

I've run it for years with no problems.

Always a chance of any piece of software going corrupt though. :(

Try a "System Restore" ?

Uninstall 2nd Copy with Revo Uninstaller, and the reinstall it again. Should take you about 10-15 minutes to get back to where you were before it all happened.

EDIT: Have just seen your reply post maromedbo. It's just one of those faults that you will have to work your way around I'm afraid. What's known in the trade as a "One Off". You may be the only one it has ever happened too. It may never happen to anyone else. Subsequently you are probably the only one who will be able to cure it. - "A One Off"

Hmmmmm....

Oddly, yesterday I had a message come up that the drive on which my 2ndCopy files reside was dangerously full. It's a small partition on a larger drive and for some reason my 2ndCopy folder had suddenly increased in size to almost 8GB (don't know what it was before this incident but, it was nowhere near that size).

What I did was to delete the contents of the 2ndCopy folder and then run a new profile. Everything is now back to normal.

This may not be the same as your problem but it is worth investigating.
