You can go to the computer manufactuers website to determine the cause of the beep code.

For example; if the machine is a Dell, type in "Dell beep codes" into your favorite search engine.

Hope this is helpful.

This is the beep code from ami bios i get from pc support,What does it mean (A hardware failure with an expansion card or the motherboard itself could be the cause of this beep code.)??

What must I do ?

4 Beeps

Four beeps means that the motherboard timer is not working properly. A hardware failure with an expansion card or the motherboard itself could be the cause of this beep code.

I noticed a slight inconsistency as regards to the numerical value of the beeps.

... always beep 3 times....

and

4 Beeps

Four beeps

Regardless, 3 or 4 beeps (from checking a few sites) looks to indicate a problem with RAM. The first thing I would try is removing and reseating what RAM is installed on the machine. Then I would test the RAM with something like Memtest85+ found here--->http://www.memtest.org/. Extract the .ISO and burn the image to bootable disk. Alternatively, there is also the option to run Memtest86+ from USB devices. Boot from the Memtest media and let the software run for at least 6-10 passes.

CAUTION: When fiddlin' with the innards of your machine, please make sure all power supplies are disconnected and any residual energy drained by holding the power button for 30 seconds or more. Be sure that you are well grounded so that static or other electricity doesn't cause damage to cicuitry.

If anyone has ought to add to this, feel free.

:hi:
