maritimegal
I am trying to revert to the original Vista Home Premium from the existing Vista Ultimate. This computer was purchased used 'as is' but needs to be formatted and clean install from the recovery partition or to Windows XP Pro.I am unable to access the HP Recovery Manager and the Vista Ultimate does not have a product key so in order to repair the problems with this laptop the best option seems to be revert to original Vista Home Premium with a product key so I can get the necessary updates. If someone can help me I will be eternally grateful. Thanks,Paula
Boris
Why not just re-install the Vista Ultimate ?You can find the product key with one of these free utilities :-/>http://pcsupport.about.com/od/productkeysactivation/gr/mjbkeyfinder.htmor/>http://pcsupport.about.com/od/productkeysactivation/gr/winkeyfinder.htm
maritimegal
Hi Boris and thanks for the quick reply. I want to install a legal software version. I have product keys for Vista Home Premium and Windows XP Pro.
Boris
Sorry - I hadn't realised that the Vista Ultimate didn't have a Product Key at all - I thought that you just did not know what it was :)Well if you have a legal Vista HP key, just go ahead and use it ......... as long as it is a Retail key rather than an OEM one (which will probably be locked to the original motherboard).
