goddi
My Windows Media Player 12 gives me the error message, "Windows Media Player Has Stopped Working", anytime I try to open its Video Library, or play certain AVIs. I don't have any problems with the other Libraries. I have to remove any search location from its Video Library to keep it from producing this error message. I have tried turning this feature off and then turning it on but that does not help. I have tried ever potential 'fix' I have found but nothing has helped. I understand that since WMP12 is embedding in Win7, there is no way of uninstalling it and reinstalling it as if it were a separate program. I'd appreciate any advise anyone might have. I think it might have something to do with codecs but I don't know where to start if that is the case. It does play some AVIs but other AVIs will produce the error message. Thanks, Gary
-pops-
Yes, it may be something to do with codecs. Install a new set from http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htmIf that doesn't work then a repair may be necessary. Have a look at http://www.thewindowsplanet.com/869/how-to-uninstall-reinstall-windows-media-player-12-windows-7.htm
