Have a job that should be run exactly once each day?

Karen's Once-A-Day II is just what you need!

The program lets you specify progams, web pages and files.

Each will be run or opened automatically, the first time Windows starts each day, or the first time a particular user logs on each day.

Start Windows, or log on, more than once in any given day and the programs, pages, and files will not be re-opened!

it seems like they are all based on time and not location/events (like boot)

or am I wrong?

You have to bear in mind that Windows original concept was/is based on static PCs :) - not something that was totally portable.

Android type devices were almost science fiction only 10 years ago :D

seems like windows tasker can do the job... now I just need a script to

1. turn on bluetooth

2. tab into a window which opens on every boot, and close it

If you had a Mac it would be simpler ?

With Windows .................... you may have to write your own ? ;)

Make sure the Bluetooth device on your Win 7 laptop is discoverable.

In XP I think that this was turned off by default ?

Windows Scripting is here to let you automate things. There are millions of things you can do with Windows, so logically there is no premade script for everything that can be done on Windows.

Windows Scripting is very easy, once you understand the basic concept. You can start by having a look here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/scriptcenter/dd793612

There are also thousands of sample scripts available on the Internet, like http://www.ericphelps.com/scripting/samples/ and many other places.

There are also various forums, like our own http://forums.windowsforum.org/index.php?showforum=101, where you can get help and support implementing certain scripts.
