Chris Posted September 21, 2003 Report Share Posted September 21, 2003 (please wait for images to load)If you have ever wanted to download Windows Updates so you can save them to disk or even burn to a CD then here is how you do it.Windows Update Lets begin...On the left hand side about half way down the page click on Personalize Windows Update (see pic below)Now place a tick in the box next to Display the link to the Windows Update Catalog under See AlsoNow click Save Settings (see pic below)Now, on the left hand side of the page you should now see Windows Update Catalog Click on this. (see pic below)Now click Find updates for Microsoft Windows operating systems (see pic below) Now select your operating system for the updates that you wish to download.Then click Search (see pic below)Now the updates will now be caterogised...Critical Updates and Service PacksAdditional Windows DownloadsMulti-Language Features Recommended Updates Advanced Security Updates Internet and Multimedia UpdatesWindows Tools Click on Critical Updates and Service Packs as these updates will be the most important updates. (see pic below)Now the updates that are available will now load (give this a few seconds or so for the list to load)Click Add on the updates that you wish to download.Now when you have chosen your updates click Go to Download Basket (see pic below)Now click Browse and choose where the updates will downloaded to.Now click Download Now (see pic below)Now you have to Accept the License Agreement to downlaod the updates. Click Accept (see pic below)Your updates will then download to your chosen location.Depending how many updates who have chosen to download, downloading times can vary.If you downlaod all of the updates in one go. They are organised in non user freindly way. There can be many folders to get to a particuliar update. The updates are named by the MSKB number.
