Macdrew
I have installed Linux Ubuntu 11.4 in a dual boot with Windows 7.After installing Linux all good, until I worked through a long list of updates needed to update Linux Ubuntu OS, rebooted and have a Wallpaper with no icons or tasks bars.Just a pretty picture to look at and no where to go.I have tried Linux Forums and at this point of time have no real solution. Also I have the About:Blank Adware tagging along with Windows and LinuxOne way I thought was to uninstall Linux than reinstall. My question is could I DELETE the 2 partitions on my hard drive with has Linux installed and WOULD I be able to reinstall Linux Ubuntu OS? I checked out these two partitions running Linux and I can only DELETE them, as a posed to FORMATTING the two.My system is a emachine laptop 2gb ram and a 500gb harddrive running Windows 7 and Linux Ubuntu 11.4 along for the ride. Alan2273
As you are going to have a go at re-installing Ubuntu, there is no need to delete or format those two partitions, just use them again, as the new install will overwrite them.Just be careful you select the right partitions when doing the re-install.
