Right curly brace '}' not generated when typing

Notebook I have is HP Pavilion dv7-4120em Entertainment Notebook PC with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit installed.

I'm using Windows 7 in English language, but besides English keyboard layout, I have additional keyboard layouts installed for Slovenian an Russian language. My native language is Slovenian and this type of keyboard layout I use primarily. I have a very peculiar problem. One day the character right curly brace '}' stopped working. On Slovenian keyboard it is generated with AltGr+N combination. Left curly brace '{' is generated as expected with AltGr+B combination. It is really annoying as I earn my living with application programming in C++ and I really need this character. I can produce this character with Alt+125 combination. Now is this strange or what?

I also tried English layout and right curly brace '}' is generated without a problem, but here the combination is different Shift+].

I've called Microsoft Slovenia tech support and they have no clue. I've called HP Slovenia tech support and they also have no clue. I can't believe it!

Is there any way to diagnose/debug the problem? From keyboard driver key press detection to keyboard layout id mapping to finally user space representation? I really, really don't want to reinstall Windows for this.

Thank you for all the help and suggestions!

Have you tried holding down AltGr +n

Found HERE

Of course I did. As I wrote in the post, AltGr + n combination is the way to generate right curly brace '}' on the Slovenian keyboard layout. Problem is, nothing happens. For the time being I have to settle with Alt + 125 combination to get the character, but because I'm programmer, I need this character very often and generating it this way is really annoying.

What you actually wrote in your first post was:

On Slovenian keyboard it is generated with AltGr+N combination.

Which is somewhat different. AltGr and an uppercase "N" will produce a blank.
