Irene
Another suggestion - it would be useful to know when a topic is resolved. A simple process which would add a simple tick or something similar. It would not only be useful for ourselves, but for others looking for answers to the same or similar problems. (By the way, I have just spent ages trying to inset a simple 'tick' symbol - I gave up. I couldn't sort it out. ).
Craig
Nice suggestion, it would make life a lot easier to find the answer. I use Microsoft's TechNet forums for work related issues, with them it's a simple matter of scrolling down the topic until you hit a post which is green indicating it was the accepted and workable answer. I've had an initial troll of the Invision Marketplace, I couldnt find anything obvious, but I shall continue searching for such a feature. Craig
Back in the day, we used to mark topics as resolved. The feature would put "Resolved" in the topic title and close the topic. This feature is still available, and I've just made a slight adjustment, that being the topic will not get closed. Without testing, I believe the ability to mark a topic as resolved is open to all administrators and moderators, and the topic starter. Below the last post in each topic (or at least topics you start), you should see "Topic Moderation", depending on access, you should see "Resolved" and "Not Resolved". Very basic, and still lacks the ability to mark a particular post as being the answer. I could activate a post rating feature so the post with the relevant answer is manually rated, however this doesnt take away the fact a user still needs to scroll a topic looking out for a number of stars. I'll keep going!
Irene
My options are to 'Close' or 'Delete' the thread.
doug
I opt for marking the thread as resolved. It would be far more informative to other readers to see what worked. If deleted the fix wont be passed on.
