aliother
Hello: While clearing out all Big Fish Game files from my Registry, I inadvertently deleted a "bfg" folder and after doing so, my computer began running slower than molasses. Any advice on how badly I messed up my system? How can I recover this without having to do a System Restore? Thanking you in advance, ali
bludgard
Have you looked in the Recycle Bin?Do not download anything to overwrite the deleted folder and try to recover the material to an external device (USB hard drive, etc). Without a previously created image off the HDD or a backup of the registry key(s)/files/folders deleted, System Restore would be your only other option; not very likely to do any good. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
How can I recover this without having to do a System Restore? You deleted this from the registry? If so, System Restore is your best option. Unless you did a registry backup before playing with the registry.

Welcome to Windows Forum, Aliother.Sorry to be the bringer of bad news. Thanx for your response! Yes. The System Restore was suggested and my computer cannot complete the restore option, no matter which applicable date I try to restore it to. After some research, I found out that the "bfg" folder I deleted WAS actually a Big Fish folder and is not what would have slowed down my system. After some consideration, I came to the realization that my laptop is now 6 years old and probably on its way out. Oh, well. Time to purchase a new one. Enjoy the holidays,:D
