Sureshot
Hi all,Just wanted to ask a quick question about disabling the on board audio for my Asus A7V333 mobo. I realise that i have a jumper setting to change but the one thing I am unsure of is the Driver for the set up. In Add/Remove Programs do I remove the Audio Driver to make way for the Audigy2 drivers? or is the Audio Driver in this list an essential to the motherboard processes? If anyone can help, thanks :help:
Paul
The drivers you have installed will be for your onboard audio hardware. The new drivers will be for your new PCI audio device so you should only need them to run your new sound card ;)
Guest lb
in order to disable the onboard audio there should be an option in the bios under integrated peripherals. it should say something like Onboard Audio....just set to disable.....the os will then not load the drivers because it wont find the hardware.... popeye
Sureshot. When I had this problem after fiting a new sound card.I dissabled the on board sound by going into Device Manager and looking for the sound system with the yellow exclaimation mark beside it. Sureshot
I think I have solved the problem.I checked my manual and it said that to disable the onboard audio i needed to change a jumper setting on my mobo and uninstall the audio drivers in Add/Remove programs. I have posted my progress (or lack of it ) in miscellaneous PC related. :(
