Laptop displays low memory! Cant do anything.

Recommended Posts

Ok so i got a samsung laptop with windows 7 and it has a C and a D drive, the C drive has about 30gigs and its mostly full with all the windows software im sure, the D drive has like 500gigs left of free memory, when i open any program like word or try to view my pics it tells me that i have low memory and that whatever im trying to do cant be completed, im thinking its mostly due to the C drive being full, but is there any way of fixing this so that i can use my laptop normally? thanks any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I've pretty mutch let Windows 7 have the whole drive lately. Besides the recovery partition. Maybe a partition for an onboard system/disc image later down the road (if space allows).

Partitions can be moved. Leave Windows partition alone. I suggest an image of the drive be created at once. It may mean the difference between utter frustration and smooth sailing.

Lots of reliable (some free) software to perform both tasks.

Edit: Windows partition can be extended after sucessfully creating the required space.
