Keyboard failure ??

Hello to everyone.- I am a new member of this forum. I try to find a solution for a mysterious failure I never came to know before. Just to explain here what happened:

When I use my laptop keyboard I write text as many of us do in a very conventional way using my fingers. Now it happened when I fit my text or keys in the coercer on the screen suddenly the jumps to another place sometimes in the middle, sometimes to any other place of the unfinished text. This happen without my consent. In this action, there is no rule, it acts's random like. Sometimes there is the marking of the already existing text followed by delete of some parts of the text. This will not happen when I use a Program as speech to text dictation such as Dragon. This mysterious behavior is not only limited to and program like MS Office – Word for instance. It will also acts the same way by writing mails. At first I thought this might be an active virus but I never heard anything like this. A friend of mine brought me on the idea to clean the keyboard by a vacuum cleaner. might be if any dust particle could have stopped the move of the keystroke. Not necessary to say this did not bring a solution. If anybody has the same experience or a solution to bring this failure to an end I would appreciate.

Regards Werner Weith

I use the following hardware:

Laptop ASUS X 77J

Software: SM- Office 2010 Pro - English version

There was a "joke" program some years ago called Crazy Mouse which had a similar effect - perhaps this is an updated version of that.

Did this start recently? If so, try a System Restore to a time before this effect began or, better, re-install from your backup - which I hope you have,

If this has no effect, test out another keyboard. It should be possible to plug in a USB keyboard to ascertain if it is a hardware problem.

Hello to all helpful hands! The extern Keyboard works in full function. I learned from similar failure of this version - the problem is simply the main board. This is hard to find, because ASUS does not sell this as a separate spear part. Now I work with two Keyboards for time being. The service of the local ASUS is highly interested to sell, but in such cases the price for such repair is as much as an new machine.
