mcdsweet98
Hi there,I am having this irritating problem which I hope to be able to solve.I have 2 W2K8 R2 servers. Server A and Server B.Server A was DCPROMO'ed and became a DC / DNS Server.Server B is the WORKGROUP server waiting to join the domain of Server A which is mohd.aidil.harithWhen I change Server B's WORKGROUP to Mohd.Aidil.Harith domain, the following error appears.Prior to this error I have done -1) Tracert on my DC and also on my client. It is able to resolve but problem didn't go away.2) I restarted the netlogon services yet to no avail.3) I changed my DNS IP on Server B to SERVER A's IP since SERVER A is the DNS yet failed.I am a noob with DNS so I hope someone can give a detailed explanation on how do I go about this. It's been 3 days already.Below is the error detailsThe following error occurred when DNS was queried for the service location (SRV) resource record used to locate an Active Directory Domain Controller (AD DC) for domain "mohd.aidil.harith":The error was: "DNS name does not exist."(error code 0x0000232B RCODE_NAME_ERROR)The query was for the SRV record for _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.mohd.aidil.harithCommon causes of this error include the following:- The DNS SRV records required to locate a AD DC for the domain are not registered in DNS. These records are registered with a DNS server automatically when a AD DC is added to a domain. They are updated by the AD DC at set intervals. This computer is configured to use DNS servers with the following IP addresses:170.225.162.89- One or more of the following zones do not include delegation to its child zone:mohd.aidil.harithaidil.harithharith.
