Missing VISTA Works wkcalrem.exe module?

Recommended Posts

Whenever I initiate a Works Spreadsheet or WordProcessing task I get the following "message":

C:\PROGRA~1\COMMONS~1\MICROS~1\WORKSS~1\wkcalrem.exe

I have to cancel the application, or whatever, to proceed.

Apparently "wkcalrem.exe" is missing. I suspect it was removed in some past disk cleanup/defrag operation.

How can I get " wkcalrem.exe" back, so I can use Works as I have before, for years?

I'm not a techie, but I think the above "message" indicates the supposed location of "wkcalrem.exe". I also suspect it has to do with the Works Calendar (reminder?).

Hi.

Try a few of the following suggestions:

Make a System Restore Point before you begin.

Backup your registry first, and then run the registry cleaner in CCleaner.

( I even hate telling people to use this registry cleaner really. :( )

Stop/Disable/Delete "wkcalrem.exe" - ( A Google search will soon show you how.)

Perhaps: Use System Restore to reach a time when there was no problem.

Perhaps: Reinstall Microsoft works.
