Mattchew
Hi, I am setting up a couple of dot-matrix printers - Oki's. When plugged in to Windows 8 the system sees a new device and runs through the install for that device, except the driver it installs is not the one we want to use. We need to change the driver which is fine, but when we unplug one printer and plug in another it assumes its a different printer and doesnt run using the same setup as before. Is there a way around this, so that we can create one printer on the computer with all the correct settings and driver and if it fails we can plug in the replacement and it works straight away without having to go through the install and changing the driver and settings all over again. Thanks
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Do these printers come with a manual? If so, is this the way the manual tells you to set up the printers? For printers, in 99% of all cases, the instructions are to install the drivers first, before connecting the physical device.
