unverified publisher for all programs

Recommended Posts

I restored my OS with Acronis True Image and all of my programs, including Microsoft are showing that they are from unverified publishers. This is running Win 7 professional and the restorations started when I noticed that WIndows Updater was no longer able to run. That error message was stating that the services were not running. I loaded a recent Image backup and these also state that updater is not running and I see that all the programs that were saved in that image show an unverified puplisher. Any new programs installed do show the publisher correctly. Any suggestions?

Lots of users here use Acronis: Not sure why there have been no responses; unless they feel this is a hook from a troller?

As I use Clonezilla and native Windows 7 backup software; I do not have a lot to offer in the field of experience with the program (Acronis).

Make sure system date and time are set correctly.

After searching a bit on google I would suggest uninstalling the Intel Rapid Storage Controller device (if applicable [not software]) via Device Manager and reboot.

Also, insert Windows 7 install media and open command prompt as Administrator; type > sfc /scannow (Enter}. Let it check for missing/corrupt system files. One may have to run diskpart command to verify the Windows drive to be checked and add the switch as needed.

If no joy, maybe giveing the exact make/model of machine (or M/B & Chipset if home-brewed) would facilitate the troubleshootin'....

Welcome and howdy,
