markharper80
Hello all,I am at a loss and any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a Lenova ideapad running Win 7 and a TP link router. In the last 48 hours my laptop will not connect to my network...well it connects to the network but has no internet access and every 30 seconds or so it cycles through the connecting process of identifying connections and authenticating. I can connect to a local public network (connected now) and have no issues accessing the internet. The catch is, every other device in my house is connected to the my network with full internet access (ipad, ps3, WD device all work fine). So clearly there is an issue with my laptop communicating with my network. They both work fine, just not with each other. I have tried:Rebooting modem and router and computer/ipconfig/dnsflush /release / renew disabling anit virusdisabling / enabling network adaptersystem restore (although this does not work, another issue entirely..advises me a file needed is missing to complete restore)network diagnostic tells me dns server no responding and restarts wireless adaptor but states cannot fix problem Thanks for any help here. markharper80
So more info. It seems it may be an issue around 'roaming'. My connection is constantly recycling connecting (with no internet access) then searching for network again. Through the windows diagnostics i found where it mentioned too many roaming attempts. Not sure if that helps anyone but any insight would be appreciated. THanks!
bludgard
Unplug the routher from power source for 60 seconds. Plug the router back in to power source. Wait and see what happens after about 2-3 minutes....Welcome to Windows Forum and keep us updated, eh?JobeWankanobe
markharper80
Thanks for the response bludgard and thank you for the welcome. I should have been more clear, I have tried unplugging the modem and the router ( i actually left them unplugged and off through the night too), no luck with that though. bludgard
Try uninstalling the wireless NIC driver via Device Manager (not software). Reboot the problem machine. Most welcome for the welcome.
