nicklizardos
Hi All hoping someone can help, I have fairly old desktop pc with only 2x512MB RAM as standard, A few weeks ago i used the crucial website to advise me of the right upgrade and ordered 2x1GB Komputerbay RAMhttp://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004LT8MN8/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Upon taking out the old and putting in the new RAM i kept getting a LOT of Blue Screens, they were seated correctly, eventually i took them out and placed the original RAM back and it worked OK again. I just want someone to help me confirm which RAM would work for my PC, My PC is a 2007 Acer Aspire T671 SB7Z and here is the RAM details (from Speccy) Total memory slots 4Used memory slots 2Free memory slots 2MemoryType DDR2Size 1024 MBytesChannels # SingleDRAM Frequency 266.7 MHzCAS# Latency (CL) 4 clocksRAS# to CAS# Delay (tRCD) 4 clocksRAS# Precharge (tRP) 4 clocksCycle Time (tRAS) 12 clocksBank Cycle Time (tRC) 16 clocksCommand Rate (CR) 2TPhysical MemoryMemory Usage 82 %Total Physical 894 MBAvailable Physical 155 MBTotal Virtual 1.87 GBAvailable Virtual 292 MBSPDNumber Of SPD Modules 2Slot #1Slot #2 Thankyou! Alan2273
If you read some of the feedback on Amazon, it seems like a lottery with Komputerbay RAM, some say it is great but a lot of others have had problems with this memory.Personally I would send them back for a refund and for the extra few pounds get them from Crucial for your own peace of mind. A lot of people have had problems with one stick being faulty, so try each stick separately to see if one or both are faulty. You can also run memtest on this ram, it can be downloaded for free from here. http://memtest86.com/ If you are unsure of how to use memtest there is a very good tutorial here.http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/topic/246994-guide-to-using-memtest86/
